ALMOND PUBLIC LIBRARY | Beautiful Things Take Time
Almond Public Library, 122 Main St. Almond | August, 2021 | Design & Lead Artist Amy Zaremba
This project was the result of a call for artists for a Create Portage County partnership with the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, Arts Midwest, and the Wisconsin Arts Board to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. Each mural was inspired by a quote and (at least in this case) the community. I was given the challenge of celebrating the history of potato farming in the region while also capturing the spirit of the quote from Morgan Harper Nichols.
